My last journal entry was so old, I think I really need to replace it. I'm still doing a weekly life drawing class, at least for most of the year, and getting into quite a strong habit of doing stuff at home too, especially since my tiny third bedroom is now quite a fully developed studio with materials and equipment all at hand.

Charcoal, in shades of grey, has been inspiring me a lot at the moment. It's nice and fast, and also much simpler than colour which I'm probably not truly ready for yet. I am dying to try some oil painting and I have a full kit for that now, so soon, but I may stick to fairly monochrome use at first - Ashley Wood, the painter and comic illustrator, is a current inspiration. He goes gorgeous sci-fi-ish paintings and I'm chasing copies of his books.
